Kim began to learn dancing in earnest in her first year of middle school. However, she had to quit due to an ankle injury in her sophomore year of high school. She came across acting by chance and instantly fell in love with it as she found dancing and acting had many similarities. In 2008, she made her debut with the comedy movie "A Tale of Legendary Libido".
